Parkinson's Freeze Challenge freeze challenge donate button

So, you've heard about this Freeze Challenge and you're wanting to know more? You've come to the right place!  People all over Southwestern Ontario are INTENTIONALLY giving themselves a brain freeze to bring awareness and raise funds for people with Parkinson's.

As a way to kick off Walk the Block for Parkinson’s, we are hosting the Parkinson’s Freeze Challenge as a fun way to engage the community around WALK THE BLOCK.

Here’s how it works.
All you need is a scoop of your favorite ice cream or frozen treat and your phone. Eat your frozen treat as quickly as possible- which will trigger the dreaded “Brain Freeze” … all while taking a video. After you’ve done the challenge, we encourage everyone to make a small donation here. Finally, post your video on your social media pages and challenge three friends to do the same!

Watch our friend Devin, show you how it’s done!

Why a Brain Freeze?
One of the many symptoms of PD is “freezing” in place. This is a temporary experience where someone with PD has the inability to move, despite their intention or effort. You are essentially, frozen in place.

So, we triple dog dare you to this challenge! We hope that you will have FUN and help us raise awareness for Parkinson’s and for the walk along the way! Don’t forget to use the hashtag #freezeforparkinsons #walktheblockpd and tag us on Facebook @parkinsonsocietyswo @walktheblockswo and on Instagram @parkinsonswo
