Why WALK-IT for Parkinson's?
I walk because 'I' have Parkinson's, and I also walk for 'others' who live with Parkinson's every day.
In the 14 years since I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, I have been taking medication to help with the symptoms. But I get my strength from you my family and friends, and I am winning the fight!
In the meantime, I keep moving. Regular physical activity can help slow the progression of Parkinson’s symptoms, and I try to stay as active as I can, for as long as I can, through baseball, pickleball, bowling, gardening, walking, sewing and more. So let's help the Parkinson’s community in Southwestern Ontario keep active as well. Show your support for those affected by Parkinson's by walking with me on September 7, or sponsoring me. Bring a friend, bring your dog, your bike or scooter! Just get there and join us! Even if you cannot join us, send me an email, a text message to root us on so we know you are there in spirit.
You can check this link to donate, or for more information www.Walk-it.ca.
Thank you for your past and present support! Looking forward to seeing you atthe park and/or my back yard!
With my sincere gratitude,
