Welcome to My Personal Page
Thank you for visiting my personal page!
My life has changed since being diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2015. Medications and intense exercise have done a good job of helping me maintain a good quality of life so far, but that is not the case for everyone because Parkinsons affects everyone differently. It touches almost every aspect of daily living including movement, mood, speech, ability to smell, eating, drinking, sleep and cognition. Not knowing what the disease will steal next can be very unsettling. However, I remain hopeful that in the near future better treatments will be found. That is one of the reasons this walk is so important to me.
The proceeds of this walk will help fund research for new and better treatment for Parkinson's disease and maybe even a cure. Parkinson's disease is devastating and affects all aspects of a person 's life. There is also a huge impact on family and friends.
My dear friends, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
This September I will join the YMCA Rock Steady Boxers and 1000 walkers taking part in The Parkinson’s Society of Southwestern Ontario's WALK-IT for Parkinson’s. Funds raised at WALK-IT for Parkinson's will go to support services, education, advocacy and research.
Why WALK-IT for Parkinson's?
Regular physical activity can help slow the progression of Parkinson’s symptoms, so let’s help the Parkinson’s community in Southwestern Ontario keep active. Show your support for those affected by Parkinson's by walking with me or sponsoring me. Join the movement for physical activity today and help us reach our goal.
Thank you - Every Step Counts!
