Our Dad, Dan Marion, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2008. Despite the struggle that was to be his path, our Dad did not let this disease take control of his life. Instead, he faced this challenge with incredible courage and strength. In January 2018, our Dad elected to join the Rock Steady Boxing Program.
Dan lived with Parkinson’s for over 10 years and the boxing program inspired him to persevere. He fought harder than ever and that was because of the home and companionship that was fostered at the club.
This program provided so much more than exercise for him. It was a place to break free, to feel good, and to feel strong. His fellow boxers and coaches provided incredible support and encouragement. The Rock Steady Program was a great gift for all of us as it provided us with incredible memories.
We lost Dan last September to this disease and this year we are walking in his honour and are seeking your support to assist others who are fighting Parkinson's. Your contributions will assist in programs like Rock Steady Boxing as well as many others.
Thank you for your consideration,
Cherie, Renee, Mike & Mary Edna
